Remote sensing and testing to detect archeological deposits associated with the Lander Road. The Lander Road was the first Congressional-funded road west of the Mississippi and began operation in 1857-1860. Our work is associated with the development of the New Fork River Crossing Park. Funding for the project was provided by the Wyoming Culutral Trust. The New Fork River Crossing project was recognized by the Advisory Council of Historic Preservation (ACHP) as one of its Section 106 Success Stories.
