Work at Sand Creek Massacre has included three distinct projects linked to the management and interpretation of the National Historic Site. These projects include: the development of a GIS for all relevant historic, archeological, and ethnographic information related to the location of the Sand Creek village and various actions associated with the massacre; the development of a reinterment and repatriation plan for human remains; metal detecting survey to locate the Bighead Incident location. Each of these projects has involved direct interaction with the National Park Service and members of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes.
